Komodo Water receives DBS Foundation Business for Impact Grant 2024 for Sustainable Clean Water Solutions
We are beyond proud to announce that Komodo Water has been awarded the DBS Foundation Business for Impact Grant 2024 – a prestigious recognition for social enterprises driving positive change across Asia. This grant marks an important milestone in our mission to provide clean, affordable, and sustainable drinking water to remote communities in Komodo National Park and West Manggarai Regency, Indonesia. With the support of the DBS Foundation, we are ready to expand our reach, enhance our impact, and continue empowering local communities through innovative water solutions.
The DBS Foundation is the non-profit organization of DBS Bank and supports social enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with sustainable business models in Asia. It was established to promote innovative solutions to social and environmental challenges. A key program of the foundation is the DBS Foundation Business for Impact Grant, which has been providing financial support to companies annually since 2014 and the companies are recognized for their innovative and sustainable solutions that have a positive social and environmental impact. Support from the DBS Foundation enables these organizations to extend their reach and strengthen their impact on communities.
Komodo Water, a social enterprise based in Indonesia, was recently recognized as a recipient of the DBS Foundation Grant 2024. Since 2012, Komodo Water has been committed to providing clean and affordable drinking water in remote villages of Komodo National Park and West Manggarai Regency in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. By working closely with the villagers, the company develops environmentally friendly solutions to optimize and manage local water resources.
During the awarding of the DBS Foundation Grant 2024, the founder and CEO of Komodo Water, Shana Fatina, was interviewed in Jakarta, she expressed that with the support of the DBS Foundation Grant, Komodo Water plans to expand its production capacity and develop new sites to provide clean water to more communities.
In addition to Komodo Water, four other companies that are making a positive impact were also recognized, namely Aliet Green Ltd, Adena Coffee, Java Fresh and GandengTangan.
The DBS Foundation’s initiative aims to promote innovative solutions that improve the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable communities. This commitment underscores the importance of social entrepreneurship in solving basic supply problems and promoting sustainable development in disadvantaged regions.
