On the side lines of last year’s World Water Week, a meeting of global entrepreneurship enablers, financiers and investors at the Norrsken Foundation provided the basis to launch a ‘global’ pact. Since then, a number of organisations formed up the nucleus for the SWEP – Sanitation and Water Entrepreneurship Pact and developed a business plan, communications material, and is convening the World Water Week’s seminar on Entrepreneurship, as well as, inviting you to attend an official launch meeting and reception.
SWEP is an international, innovative, and collaborative network of financiers and enablers of sanitation and water entrepreneurship. The Idea behind creating such a network stems from a need to create the nucleus of a global value-chain, or ‘one stop shop’, that effectively improves the conditions for supporting ‘enabling organisations’ that accompany entrepreneurs all the way from idea to full market application. The network originated as a Swiss Water Entrepreneurship Pact and was brought to the international arena for upscale by chews dan the Nordic Agency for Sustainable Impact.
